Indian space technology startup Pixxel has raised $100 million in a Series C funding round, the largest single funding round by an Indian space technology company.

This comes as the company seeks to expand its satellite network and Earth intelligence business.
The funding round was led by Singapore state investor Temasek and UK-based space technology investment firm Seraphim Space Investment Trust. Existing investors Radical Ventures and growX Ventures also participated, alongside new investors 360 ONE Asset and IMM Investment.
The latest investment brings Pixxel’s total funding to $195 million.
Founded by Awais Ahmed, Pixxel initially focused on hyperspectral satellite imaging, a technology that captures detailed information about the Earth’s surface beyond what conventional satellite imagery can provide.
The Bengaluru-based company has since expanded into Earth intelligence software through its Aurora platform and satellite systems designed for commercial and government missions.
Pixxel said the new funding would be used to expand its sensing capabilities through the development of its Honeybee satellite constellation and high-resolution optical imaging satellites.
The company also plans to further develop Aurora, which combines satellite datasets to provide decision-ready intelligence for governments, businesses and other organisations.
The funding comes as India’s private space industry expands following government reforms that opened the sector to greater participation by private companies.
Pixxel is among a growing group of Indian space startups seeking to develop commercial capabilities across satellite manufacturing, Earth observation, launch systems and space-based data services.
The company’s expansion reflects a shift beyond traditional satellite imagery towards integrated space infrastructure that combines sensors, satellites, software and data analytics.
Pixxel said its broader goal was to build planetary-scale infrastructure capable of connecting these technologies to help organisations turn Earth observation data into actionable intelligence.
The latest investment also highlights increasing international investor interest in India’s emerging private space sector. Temasek and Seraphim are among the global investors backing the company as it expands its technology and satellite capabilities.
The funding will allow Pixxel to increase the amount and quality of data it can collect from orbit while strengthening its ability to process and commercialise that information through its software platform.
India has sought to develop a larger private space industry as part of efforts to increase commercial activity and attract investment into the sector.
Pixxel’s latest funding round positions the company among the most heavily funded space technology startups in India and gives it additional capital to scale its satellite infrastructure and Earth intelligence business.
