The 37th meeting of the The Green Climate Fund Board will take place in-person in Tbilisi, Georgia on 23-25 October.
At the three-day meeting, the Board will consider for approval 15 new funding proposals, of which 12 target the most vulnerable – Least Developed Countries (LDCs), Small Island Developing States (SIDS) and African States. If all approved, USD 736.4 million in GCF funding would be committed, unlocking a total of 3,607.3 million when accounting for co-financing.
Among the other agenda items for the Board’s consideration will be the revised strategy of the Readiness and Preparatory Support Programme 2042—2027, review of the Project Preparation Facility (PPF), proposal on the financing of results-based payments for REDD+ and outcomes of GCF’s second replenishment. In addition, nine proposals for accreditation and reaccreditation will be considered for Board approval. Reports on the 2023 activities of the GCF Secretariat and independent units will be presented, as well as their work programmes and budgets for 2024.
This will be the last Board meeting of 2023 and for GCF’s first replenishment period (2020-2023).
