Smart Clinic SpA is born: a joint venture between Gruppo San Donato, GKSD and Generali Italia for the health of the future 

The new company envisages the development of a network that will include a hundred structures by 2030 and will be chaired by Vito Cozzoli and led by CEO Bonifacio Moroni

GKSD e Generali Italy: born Smart Clinic SpA, The company joint venture which aims to create, by 2030, a network of approximately 100 healthcare facilities across the entire Italian territory. The new reality will be chaired by Vito Cozzoli, under the guidance of the CEO Bonifacio Moroni and the directors, Francesco Galli, Francesco Bardelli and Gavino Arrica, appointed by the shareholders.

The JV is owned by Gruppo San Donato with 51%, by Generali Italia with 40% and by GKSD with 9%. A model based on a modern integrated healthcare-insurance ecosystem, the result of the synergy between the know-how of the two national leaders in the field of health and insurance. A strategic partnership at the service of the country that can count on the network of the San Donato Group – the leading Italian healthcare group, which treats over 63 million patients a year in its 5 offices – and on the strength of Generali Italia, the no. 1 insurer in Italy with around 11 million customers and a network present throughout the country.

Smart Clinic: the health joint venture

The new Smart Clinic, which also includes the ten healthcare facilities of the San Donato Group already operating in Lombardy, represents an innovative response, on the one hand, to the growing demand for treatment and prevention of the population and, on the other, to the progressive evolution towards healthcare based on personalized care services with high standards. A concrete contribution to the sustainability of the country’s health system, with the aim of promoting the efficiency and effectiveness of treatment paths. Smart Clinic presents, in fact, an innovative proposal on the Italian market that integrates the care in all medical specialties with an important focus on prevention and well-being, attention to the customer experience, accessibility to services, high quality standards and use of the best technologies. 

A complete offer of outpatient services to guarantee the customer a 360-degree smart health experience, with personalized services thanks to integrated digital processes to simplify the research, booking and patient care phases. The use of technology for the entire duration of the diagnostic-therapeutic process allows, among other things, the patient to have their health data available in all the hospital facilities of the San Donato Group. 

Thanks to this partnership, Generali Italia will be able to offer its customers easier access to performance of all Smart Clinics.

The Smart Clinic network will still be accessible to all citizens, including those insured with all the main mutuals, health funds and funds and insurance companies, who will be guaranteed continuity of care, even in the event of in-depth analysis or second level treatments, at the hospitals of the San Donato Group in a logic of Hub&Spoke.
