Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications Now Available on Oracle EU Sovereign Cloud

Press Release – Austin, Texas—Feb 10, 2025Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications Suite is now available on Oracle EU Sovereign Cloud to enable private and public sector organizations across the European Union to place sensitive data and applications in the cloud and take advantage of AI in alignment with their EU data privacy and sovereignty requirements. With Oracle Fusion Applications available in all 27 EU member states, organizations with strict data sovereignty requirements can manage finance, HR, supply chain, manufacturing, and customer experience data on a single platform that is located in the EU, owned, operated, and managed by EU incorporated legal entities, and managed by EU-based personnel.

“As organizations in Europe move their most important business functions to the cloud and look to take advantage of the latest AI innovations, many are focused on the importance of data residency and privacy,” said Steve Miranda, executive vice president, Applications Development, Oracle. “This is especially important for public sector organizations and regulated industries across the EU that need to reassure citizens and customers that their data is not leaving the country or region. With Oracle Fusion Applications on Oracle EU Sovereign Cloud, customers can leverage the latest advancements in AI to optimize business processes and enhance the experience they deliver to their employees while remaining in compliance with local data sovereignty requirements.”

Oracle Fusion Applications enables organizations to take advantage of the cloud and the latest advancements in AI to break down organizational silos, standardize processes, and manage finance, HR, supply chain, manufacturing, and customer experience data on a single integrated cloud platform. With this new deployment option, customers can leverage the data privacy and sovereignty capabilities of Oracle EU Sovereign Cloud to run Oracle Fusion Cloud Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)Oracle Fusion Cloud Human Capital Management (HCM)Oracle Fusion Cloud Supply Chain & Manufacturing (SCM), and Oracle Fusion Cloud Customer Experience (CX).

“By introducing Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications Suite on EU Sovereign Cloud, Oracle is demonstrating its strategic commitment to supporting customers in their digital sovereignty journey,” says Ashok Patel, Research Manager at IDC. “As the regulatory landscape—particularly around data privacy and AI—continues to evolve, organizations are increasingly prioritizing operational and technical sovereignty when adopting cloud-based applications. This trend goes beyond mere compliance though. It is fundamentally about an organization’s desire to maintain control, ensure security, and build trust in an increasingly AI-driven world. The availability of Oracle’s complete cloud application suite—with the full range of services, features, and functionality—in a sovereign environment plays a key role in the vendor’s efforts to address this increasingly critical market need in Europe.”

Oracle EU Sovereign Cloud is designed with data residency and security in mind and an architecture that is physically and logically isolated from Oracle’s commercial regions. Customer access to Oracle EU Sovereign Cloud is managed separately from access to Oracle Cloud’s commercial regions.

In addition, Oracle EU Sovereign Cloud consists of two cloud regions to support disaster recovery architectures within the boundaries of the EU. Each region comprises three fault domains to help avoid grouping workloads on the same physical hardware. As a result, any hardware failure or compute hardware maintenance in only one fault domain will not impact instances located in other fault domains.

With operations, support, and policies that are separate from Oracle’s commercial cloud, Oracle EU Sovereign Cloud helps streamline and simplify customer compliance with their EU data privacy and sovereignty requirements. In addition, by ensuring that customer data is located within the EU without requiring additional customer configuration via complex policy tools, Oracle EU Sovereign Cloud helps accelerate customer deployments.
