BASF and Mingyang have come together in a Memorandum of Understanding to drive innovation and create advanced materials and technical solutions that cater to the sustainable needs of diverse industries.

Shanghai, China – April 18, 2025 – BASF and Mingyang have come together in a Memorandum of Understanding to drive innovation and create advanced materials and technical solutions that cater to the sustainable needs of diverse industries.

This partnership aims to focus on innovative Power-to-X materials and technologies, enhancing cooperation in technology and business sectors. BASF will provide its strong R&D expertise in catalytic materials and technologies, while Mingyang will bring its expertise in applying materials and technologies research results to Power-to-X equipment.

Together, both sides will work towards advancing large-scale application of green hydrogen, ammonia, and methanol in China. BASF’s innovative solutions, such as catalysts and adsorbents, are the preferred choice for Mingyang in the production of green hydrogen, ammonia, and methanol.

Wang Jinfa, the Executive Dean of the Central Research Institute of Mingyang Group, said, “We are extremely delighted to collaborate with BASF once again. Mingyang and BASF have a solid foundation of cooperation. Not only have we jointly carried out material innovation for the wind turbine blade industry, but we have also collaborated on the development of the first Sino-German offshore wind farm project. I believe that through this cooperation, both parties will leverage each other’s strengths and jointly promote the implementation of large-scale application scenarios for green hydrogen, ammonia, and methanol in China.”

“We are excited to partner with Mingyang to drive innovation,” said Henry Paeckert, Senior Vice President, Business and Market Development Greater China, BASF. “By combining our strengths and expertise, we are confident in our ability to develop new solutions that deliver value to our customers and support them in achieving their sustainability objectives.”
